Nigerian Journal of Crop Improvement (NJCI)
AIM AND SCOPE
The Nigerian Journal of Crop Improvement (NJCI) is a scholarly publication dedicated to advancing knowledge in the broad areas of crop improvement, including but not limited to plant breeding, genetics, physiology, molecular biology, genomics, proteomics, biochemistry, plant development, systems biology, agronomy, bioinformatics and the interaction of plants with the environment. The journal will accommodate both fundamental and applied research, aimed at providing a comprehensive understanding of plants, geared towards their safe exploitation.
The Nigerian Journal of Crop Improvement will publish in the minimum time, research manuscripts as well as commissioned reviews, method papers (technical papers) and commentaries recommended by its reviewers in all related fields. Manuscripts, which should be written concisely and essentially as a final report, must contain original and significant insights that lead to a better understanding of crop improvement and related fields. Manuscripts on methods are welcome only when the technique(s) described is novel or provides a major advancement of established protocols. All submissions are subject to rigorous peer-review by the journal’s reviewers.
